If you find the Circular Quay to Manly ferry a bit too relaxed, get some perspective with a ride on a jet boat in the harbour.

Be prepared to get soaked. It seems the secondary goal of the driver is to fill your pants with Sydney harbour. The primary goal of course is to one-up the competing jet boat operators .

Water-proof clothing was provided, although you wonder why after the first big turn. Waves of water pour over your head and the extra clothing becomes quickly redundant.

Jumping over the wake of the ferries to the enjoyment of those on both the ferry and the jet boat as we rounded Fort Denison would be my highlight. This was followed closely by getting airborne by hitting the wake of other boats in a perpendicular manner . The driver advised us that this got him into trouble if he got caught which only added to the excitement.

I went as a gift in a group and we used a voucher from a coupon site. Everyone was pumped full of adrenaline when they left and there was lots of talk of repeating the outing in the minutes that followed. There were people aged from about 12 through to 50-something. Although it was rough, everyone enjoyed themselves.
