Jazz isn't the first word associated with politics but on Friday 15 October, Parliament House will chill out with
Jazz on the Green. Held at the Speaker's Green in the grounds of Brisbane's Parliament House, Jazz on the Green is hosted by the Lions Club of Queensland Parliament and will raise much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Kicking off at 6:00pm the evening will feature a buffet dinner with wine and beer included for adults, plenty of funky jazz music and lots more to keep you entertained and chilling out on your Friday night. The Speaker's Green at Parliament House is a manicured lawn and tropical garden which separates Parliament House from the Parliamentary Annexe. It features stone finials in the garden which originally were intended as part of the building's roof.
Artists performing at Jazz on the Green include
Mick Hadley and the Atomic Boogie Band and the
Tim Gaze Band featuring Bridget O'Donoghue. Both bands offer a variety of classic blues and modern interpretations.
Proceeds from the evening go to the
Royal Flying Doctor Service who provide both emergency medical care and everyday healthcare to Australians living in regional and remote areas. Tickets for Jazz on the Green cost $80 for adults and $40 for children and can be purchased from the Lions Club of Queensland Parliament by phoning 3406 7379.
