Jazz Now Festival
Sydney's annual Jazz:Now Festival is on at the The Studio @ The Opera House from Wednesday the 10th of September (today) until Saturday.
It's described as a snapshot of the best contemporary jazz, and there are 10 acts playing over the 4 nights, with a different line up each time. If you are a serious jazz fan then your week is going to be busy.
A highlight of the festival if you like free piano jazz is going to be Marilyn Crispell, who studied classical piano at the New England Conservatory of Music before finding jazz, and has played for a large number of high profile groups since then.
You can see and listen to her performing on her website.
For the full line-up visit the Festival Webpage from where you can also buy tickets for $39.
Why see it? If you like Jazz then you probably already have tickets. If you would like to hear what good free Jazz sounds like then this is your chance.
WHEN: Wed 10th of Sept to Sat the 13th
WHERE: The Studio @ The Sydney Opera House
COST: $39
