In today's world when there are so many devices and electronic games for kids (even apps for toddlers), it's not easy to find a book that can occupy their attention for a longer period.

If you have the same problem and you are looking for stories that are easy to process, have lots of colourful pictures for little ones, you should check out The Stories of Jakey and Vicky"

All the reviews on the website state how kids bond with the characters right away and start to relate to the happenings- remembering their own experiences. This book quickly became a favourite in many households.

The first installment contains four stories:
1. Vicky Arrives - the story of the arrival of a new baby into the family from the view of her brother.
2. Nanna's Visit - we all have favourite friends or relatives, who visit us time to time, this is a visit of a grandmother from far away.
3. Moving - moving of houses gets the children excited, especially because it involves a moving truck.
4. Vicky's Birthday - a first birthday party in the park.

If you want to check out the stories, the first story is animated on the website.

Other great thing about the book, which is a promotion, I have never heard about, that the authors are selling the book for 'Name Your Own Price', meaning that you only pay for s/h (a modest $5) and you decide how much it is worth for you. If you want to play full price ($19.95), that is still cheap compared to other books with this many pages, you donate a book to child who wouldn't get a book otherwise, through The Smith Family Fundation.

The book is the first installment of the series ". In addition, for every book that is sold at full price ($19.95) or more, the Nemeths are donating a book to the Smith Family Foundation's Toy and Book Appeal for disadvantaged Aussie children.
