As a person who has always wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving, I was thrilled to receive an invite to dinner. Hosted at the Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery, Sydneysiders were invited to indulge in a night of Southern hospitality, food, and music.
Each course was Southern-inspired, featuring canapés such as fried jalapeño peppers and creamy mashed potato inside potato chips, mains such as fried chicken and corn bread, and desserts such as pumpkin pie and s'mores with whisky ice cream. In keeping with the theme, there was even a hog, cooked by techniques Zach Parker (owner of Scott-Parker's barbecue) learnt whilst growing up in Tennessee.
Each course was accompanied by a specially-designed cocktail, all enjoyed against a backdrop of music by artists such as Gang of Youths and Pat Capocci. As a foodie, Thanksgiving was a dream event for me. The combination of food, music, and ambience made this one of the best events I've been to this year, and I would highly recommend all future Jack Daniel's events for adults that love food, drink, and an all-round good time.
