My husband was born in India so it goes without saying we eat Indian food now and again. Usually we would just call or drop into Jabar's Indian Cuisine in West Ryde near the train station. It is such a simple looking restaurant with that true family owned feel and you just know the kitchen is being lovingly tended by a traditional Indian chef.
So you can imagine our panic when the restaurant changed hands a little while ago. We thought we had lost our little piece of home delivered India. Reluctantly we ordered some home delivery from the new owners and crossed our fingers hoping that it would be tasty and fresh. Much to our surprise and delight Jabar's has improved.
Moist, tasty, and delicious
Now, the food is amazing. We were mumbling and nodding the whole way through our meal. The bread was crisp and flaky, the tandoori chicken moist and full of flavor and, oh my goodness, the Biryani... now I know why my husband is always going on about Biryani. It had perfectly balanced flavours, perfectly cooked lamb, fluffy rice, and just enough chilli to keep you eating more. My new favorite is Saag Gosht (lamb in a spinach sauce).
Thank you Jabar's for many tasty, fresh, and inexpensive dinners. We could eat in their cosy inviting restaurant but with two little ones, home delivery works perfectly for us.
