Event: 15/04/2010 - 25/04/2010
As Ipswich celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the Ipswich Festival celebrates all things great about Brisbane's western neighbour. Fire on the River will light up the skies and mark the start of the 2010 Ipswich Festival on Thursday 15 April. Viewing platforms in the Riverlink Shopping Centre precinct will let the whole family enjoy the sights and sounds of Fire on the River.

Fireworks are just the tip of the excitement iceberg, on Saturday 17 April the circus comes to town with clowns, jugglers and acrobats performing in the Circus Comedy Gala on the Festival Lawn in the Mall. After gasping at the daredevil feats and laughing yourself silly at the antics of the clowns why not head over to Brisbane Street for the Festival Parade which will feature horse drawn carriages and vintage cars.

Top of Town Festival Party on Saturday night is party central - food, shopping, roving entertainers and 5 sound stages to provide music for all to enjoy. The P!nk Show, Australia's leading P!nk tribute, will be performing a 2 hour concert of P!nk's high energy hits. For a more laid back environment head over to Reggae Rhythms or the World Music Stage which will feature African music and middle eastern dance.

Can't miss an episode of So You Think You Can Dance? Then head over to the Dance Stage where local dance students will be strutting their stuff. Has Elvis left the building? Yes he has in order to perform at the Rock N Roll Stage at the Top of Town Festival Party.

Global Fiesta on Sunday 18 April celebrates the diversity of modern Ipswich. Taking place across various festival venues, Global Fiesta will take you around the world with the need for a passport or plane tickets.

Enjoy good music, good food and good wine? Well on Saturday 24 April, there's only one place for you to be – Ipswich Festival's Jazz Wine & Blues, an eight hour continuous exploration of all things jazz.

Kid's Kingdom on Sunday 25 April has concerts, rides, face painting and heaps of other great activities for littlies. Carton hero, Ben 10 and his sidekick will also make an appearance at the Ben 10 – Ben & Gwen Live Experience.

There is a wide variety of events taking part during Ipswich Festival including the National Town Crier's Championship, Ipswich Gala Doll Fair, St Paul's Craft & Quilt Display, a seniors focused concert, the Bernie Ripoll Brisbane 2 Ipswich Challenge, the QT Arts Awards and Contemporary Country.

The Ipswich Festival runs from Thursday 15 April to Sunday 25 April 2010 at various locations around Ipswich. Many events are free to attend and a festival program is available for download. Ease the strain on the roads by using the Ipswich train line to get to events.
