Invent The World are running their wildly popular holiday programs once again this Summer! Courses include the popular Minecraft courses, Games Programming and Rockets n Sprockets and some exciting NEW courses!Invent the World is an imaginative and innovative holiday program for boys and girls, lead by a passionate team of programmers, engineers, teachers, gamers and all-around nerds!Delivered in a fun and engaging environment, children will learn about engineering, programming, game design and many other disciplines.For example children can develop and build their own video games on the Raspberry Pi, learn the basics of programming using Scratch or participate in problem solving and creative thinking while playing one of the most popular video games available - Minecraft.These courses are perfect for 'nerdy' kids who love computers and games!The Summer 2016/17 school holiday program consists of four multi-day courses which run from 9:00am to 3:30pm, with breaks for recess, lunch and afternoon tea. Supervised care is available from 8:30am to 5:15pm. My Pi (Ages 8-14) Dates: 19-20 Jan 2017Cost: $356Description: Take your computer skills to the next level! On each day of this course, the class is divided up into two groups. The team of Raspberry Pi enthusiasts will each lead one group in building a project that personally excites them!.[BREAK] Games Programming (Ages 7-12) Dates: 12-13 Jan 2017Cost: $341(cost includes Raspberry Pi computer to take home)Description: The kids will learn Scratch and use it to make fully interactive games and animations. More advanced students will learn the basics of the Python programming language and will use this to make simple text based adventure games and manipulate Minecraft using code.[BREAK] Rockets n Sprockets (Ages 8-14) Dates: 12-13 Jan 2017 or 19-20 Jan 2017Cost: $242Description: Students will explore physics, engineering and automation through two custom games and maps in advanced STEM-based educational games; Kerbal Space Program and Factorio.[BREAK] Get Game (Ages 7-14) Dates: 9, 10, 11, 21, 22 or 23 Jan 2017Cost: $118Description: Have heaps of fun playing some awesome games in this NEW course! On each of the course days, studnts will experience 3 games from a range of genres such as puzzle, survival, or citybuilding. Each group will get around 2 hours to play each game while being coached by the game experts.[BREAK] Minecraft: Young Crafters (Ages 5 - 8) Dates: 4-6 Jan 2017, 16-18 Jan 2017 or 23-25 Jan 2017Cost: $352Description: The Young Crafters course has been designed for kids of all experience levels; some kids will be learning to craft simple objects while others will be using advanced recipes from day one. The goal is to challenge every child, ensuring they all come away with the satisfaction of having learned new skills over the course of the week.[BREAK] Web Programming (Ages 7 - 12) Dates: 9-10 Jan 2017Cost: $341Description: Brand NEW course for 7-12 year olds this holidays at ITW! Learn the secrets of web programming! This course is fun, interactive, project-based course that will cater to all skill levels.
