Super sleuths and history buffs take a journey back to Sherlock Holmes' Victorian London and help solve a captivating mystery. opens 3 June and runs until 8 October 2017. Visitors can discover the fascinating mystery and science of the world of Sherlock Holmes and the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, doctor-turned-author and the man behind the legend.



This exhibition features over 350 objects and encourages you to be interactive by conducting your own investigations. Browse through original manuscripts and first editions and see for yourself 221B Baker Street, the home of Sherlock Holmes and his right-hand man Waston.



This exciting exhibition encourages you to assume the role of the detective. You can learn how to conduct footprint and blood splatter analysis, examine botanical samples and try your hand at chromatography.



Visitors will learn how Sherlock Holmes, a scientific expert ahead of his time, made painstaking observations and collected clues to solve some of the era's most bizarre mysteries.



Sherlock Holmes is one of the most treasured figures in literary history. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's world of investigation has mystified millions around the world for centuries. Take a journey in Sherlock's shoes back to dark and gloomy days of history and learn his secrets of investigating. Modernists will enjoy the large gallery of pop art, featuring costumes, props and behind the scenes equipment from the hit CBS television show Elementary and the BBC's Sherlock, as well as a recent Warner Bros movie.



So whether you live to solve a mystery, have a keen interest in science and history or just a fan of pop culture make sure you check out opens at the Powerhouse Museum.

The exhibition is made up of five galleries:



Dr. Conan Doyle's Study – Conan Doyle, On display will be an original manuscript, letters, and illustrations through which guests will gain perspective on the experiences that influenced Conan Doyle in creating Sherlock Holmes.

Science and History** –Try some experiments and discover the developments in science and technology in the 1890s



Become a Detective – Crack a new mystery.



Culture of Sherlock – Browse through and extensive collection of all things "Sherlockian," ranging from vintage Sherlock Holmes-themed card games, comics, magazines, radio scripts, movie and television show props and costumes.

This exhibition is brought to the Powerhouse Museum through a unique arts partnership between Exhibits Development Group (EDG); Geoffrey M. Curley Associates; Conan Doyle Estate Ltd.; and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. This is the first time a Conan Doyle family member has been involved in a Sherlock Holmes exhibition.
