While many of the capital's outdoor skating rinks that were open over the New Year have now packed up and gone, there's one which is continuing to entertain - and will do so right the way through to 19th February.
Located in the shadow of Canary Wharf tower,
the popular open-air ice rink is now in its seventh year. Open seven days a week from 9.45am to 11pm (until 7.30pm on Sundays), the rink offers skate hire for feet large and small.
If you'd rather watch with a hot drink in your hand than risk falling on your backside, there's a viewing gallery right beside the rink. The viewing gallery is part of the
The Moose cafe, where a selection of food and drinks can be found.
For those who've never skated before (or who are just plain rubbish at it),
30-minute lessons are available for £15 (plus the cost of a one-hour skating ticket). Bookings for lessons can be made on the day at the venue.
As you can imagine, the rink is popular with people of all ages, so the rink organisers recommend that you
buy tickets in advance.
And if you're reading this in the comfort of a warm room, don't forget: it's freezing cold out there, so if you do decide to get your skates on, be sure to wrap up well!
