Kicking off on 24th February and running for three days is
Hyper Japan, an enormous celebration of all things Japanese.
Last year's Hyper Japan event attracted over 25,000 fans of Japanese culture and just as many are expected to attend this year.
Highlights of this year's event include colourful cosplay shows, performances by Japanese comedians, demonstrations of cutting-edge technology, the 2012 Sushi Awards and the 2012 Sake Awards.
For fans of Japanese cuisine, Hyper Japan is a must-go bash, with a food court at the event serving up what it can to satisfy your culinary cravings.
Never tried sushi before? Give it a go here. Hopefully you'll be able to find other delightful dishes at the event, like
okonomiyaki,
takoyaki and
yakitori.
Lots of exhibitors will be present at Hyper Japan, showcasing the country's latest trends in art, design and fashion.
Cosplay will also play a big part at Hyper Japan this year, with a number of activities and competitions taking place on the main stage. In fact, if you're
a cosplayer yourself, how about putting on your best garb and entering one of the competitions?
A general entry ticket for Hyper Japan on Saturday (9.30am to 8pm) and Sunday (9am to 5pm) costs £12 if bought in advance and £14 on the door, though organisers think the event on these two days may well sell out. In other words,
get your ticket early.
A ticket for entry on Friday (3pm to 9pm) costs £6 in advance and £7 on the door. Children aged ten years and under can enter for free.
If you're crazy about Japan, or know little about the country and its culture and would like to find out more, make your way to Hyper Japan at Earls Court for what has all the makings of an enjoyable day out for the whole family.
