The influx of Vietnamese cuisine continues with the addition of Vietnamese Kitchen on King William Road in Hyde Park. Locals may know it as the old Lars building.

Vietnamese Kitchen caught our eye on a Sunday stroll so we decided to stop in for lunch. A little early for a Sunday we were the only people there, but we set the trend with two or three other tables being seated while we were there.

I knew before I sat down that I'd get the lemongrass chicken vermicelli noodle salad. It's always a good option and nice and refreshing on a warmish day.

I wasn't disappointed. The chicken was served slightly cooled so it was more warm than hot which suited the coldness of the salad well. There was a good mix of greens in there too - even some thinly sliced granny smith apple pieces.

The layout makes the most of space. We opted to sit outside but there's a long table with bar-type seating and plenty of smaller tables inside too. A few cute artworks adorn the walls.

The BBQ Pork and Rice plate on the other side of the table earned a tick of approval too. I don't eat Pork so can't comment personally but by meal's end there wasn't a skerrick of food that went to waste.

The menu had a few interesting options, like roll your own cold rolls on the entree side, and all the regular dishes you'd expect.

Service was efficient and we didn't wait very long for our food. All in all it was an enjoyable lunch and an experience that warrants a return visit.
