The Hunter Kayak Challenge is a new contest for the Newcastle region and looks to be an unmissable event for any paddling enthusiast.

Entrants will be racing for the honour of being the Kayak champion and can choose between the 30km course, stretching from Raymond Terrace to Stockton, or for the more energetic, the 60km course starting from scenic Lorn and flowing down through historic Morpeth, Ash Island and finishing up at Stockton.

Categories include Open Male, Female, Junior, Veterans 45 , Double Surf Skis and Stand Up Paddlers. No matter which course you choose, it's a great way to get in some weekend exercise!

All proceeds from the event will assist the Hunter Wetlands Centre, a community run self-funded organisation, in carrying out numerous environmental projects in the area.
