Have you visited the old side of Hornsby? It's a perfect day out with family or with friends. The locals know this area well. The is one of the main attractions to this side of Hornsby.

The Odeon is a lovely old cinema built in 1914. It's not a huge multiplex but a stylish cinema. The upstairs candy bar retains a pre-war look which is classy among so many of the modern cinema complexes.

Though an old style cinema, they have the latest movies including 3D. Ticket prices are cheap and there is free admission on your birthday if you show ID.

Check out the specials for a discounted price on certain days. If you're like me and love an icecream in one hand and a coke in the other, the movie combo is great value. There are parking areas nearby and the bus and train interchange is opposite the cinema.

After visiting the Odeon, stroll along Pacific Highway past second-hand furniture shops towards the Aquatic Centre and a relaxing lunch in the park. There are numerous cafes and restaurants near the cinema and the RSL is just down the road.
