If you, like me, feel guilty finding a babysitter for a reason so 'selfish' as doing a bit of shopping and / or you're looking for a fun activity for kids aged between 4 and 14, Home Fresh is the answer! For just $20 you get to drop your child(ren) off and browse The Parade, Norwood for 1 1/2 hours child free.

So what do the kids do while you're becoming human again? They put on their chef's apron and hat (see photo below) and prepare a meal with (at present) professional chef Jean-Claude de Toulouse. The kids are taken to a local supermarket where they are taught about organic foods and how to shop. They then return to Home Fresh and prepare, cook, and eat a simple, delicious meal. They are also taught to set out their plates and cutlery, and clean up after themselves.

Home Fresh is not just a cooking school, it's a homewares business too. On the day of your child's cooking class you get 10% of all items.

The verdict from my daughter (five years old): "Fantastic! I got to chop tomatoes and green stuff [chives]."
