Become a Lager Legend in your own Lifetime
Calling all backyard brewers! Home brew enthusiasts have the chance to win the Beer DeLuxe award for 'Best Home Brew' in the first ever Home Brew Heroes competition. Here's your opportunity to be catapulted from beer enthusiast to beer hero.
Brew up a storm and become a home brew hero
Beer DeLuxe is asking you to go to their website and complete an entry form, then come along to one of Beer DeLuxe's venues in Victoria and NSW for the qualifying rounds. Each qualifying event will be a 'Craft Beer Festival' with live entertainment and local brewer pop-ups, such as local favourites Two Birds Brewing (Australia's first female owned brewing company) and 4 Pines Beer from Sydney. At these events, the public can meet the home brewers and enjoy an afternoon of beer revelry.
The qualifying winners of each category in Sydney, Albury and Wagga will receive an all expenses paid trip to Melbourne for two people, for the Grand Final event.
Amongst the prizes is the opportunity to have your home brew commercially brewed and served at Beer Deluxe venues
There are some great prizes on offer. The winner of 'Best Home Brew' will have their recipe commercially brewed and available on tap at all Beer DeLuxe venues across Victoria and in NSW. The winner will also receive an all expenses paid trip to commercially create their winning brew, as well as an invitation (for two) to the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) as a guest of Beer DeLuxe.
To enter the competition, you will need to submit 500mL of beer in any or all of the three categories - Pale Ale, IPA and Brewers Choice - for the initial tasting. Those who make it to the finals will be required to provide an additional 16 litres of their brew for judging of the 'People's Choice Award' at the Grand Final.
The cut off dates to enter the competition are as follows:
Albury: Submissions due by 8th April, (qualifying event 17th April); Wagga Wagga: Submissions due by 15th April, (qualifying event 24th April); Sydney: Submissions due by 22nd April, (qualifying event 1st May), and Hawthorn: Submissions due by April 29th (qualifying event 8th May).
