Holiday & Travel Show

This year's Holiday & Travel Show, aka 'Destinations', is taking place at Earls Court from 3rd February until 6th February.

It's for anyone who loves to travel, wants to travel, dreams of travelling or is simply just curious about other corners of the globe besides their own.

The show brings together hundreds of independent travel companies from across the industry, there to answer your questions and help you decide on your next holiday, whether it be an epic trip on the Trans-Siberian railway or a weekend in sunny Bournemouth.

At the Taste the World section you'll have a chance to sample a variety of international cuisine, while at the Touch the World space you'll be able to get up close to watch expert craftspeople, such as basket weavers from Tanzania and hand embroiderers from Afghanistan, engaging in centuries-old skills.

Among the 14 guest speakers appearing at the event will be Michaela Strachan, the BBC's security correspondent Frank Gardner, celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio and Ben Fogle. If travel truly broadens the mind, then Fogle's head is probably as wide as an Airbus A380.

He'll be giving the lowdown on adventure travel, something he knows a thing or two about - this is a man who rowed across the Atlantic in under 50 days, for goodness sake. So if the thought of lying on a beach for a week sounds a tad on the boring side, come and be inspired by one of Ben's many stories.

One of the show's highlights is the announcement of the winner of the Wanderlust Magazine Travel Photo of the Year Competition.

Finalists' photos will be on show, giving you the opportunity to enjoy some of the best travel images taken over the last year - perhaps you'll be inspired to enter next year's competition. Winners will be announced on the Friday at 4pm.

And don't forget to take a moment to enjoy performances on the World Entertainment Stage, which will include music and dance displays from around the world.

The show promises to be a fantastic celebration of the world of travel, and should get you itching to plan that next journey.

Alternatively, spend a whole day at the show and you might feel as if you've been to the other side of the world and back, thereby eliminating the need to actually leave the house, saving yourself a pretty penny in the process.
