For an afternoon of delectable treats in beautiful surroundings, you really can't go past an afternoon of pure class at The Hyatt's High Tea.

Held in the Cafe Restaurant from 3:00pm - 5:00pm on weekends, guests may sit in the ambiance of gentle piano playing whilst being served sparkling wine, sandwiches, and tea and coffee.

Then the real fun begins.

There are three buffet style stations. The first is savoury, with tastes like little serves of pumpkin risotto and prawn in white sauce.

The next station contains numerous sweet treats of all varieties - tarts, cakes, custards. You name it! Our exclamations of joy over each dish could be heard resounding over and over again.

The last station is full of icecreams, sorbets, waffles and chocolate.

What can I say. Amazing. Simply amazing.

For someone like me, a self confessed sweet tooth, this experience is to die for. I had a hard time deciding what not to eat - I wanted it all. However, I would hazard that a person who is not overly fond of sweet things might not find the experience as enriching as I did. There are a lot of sweet treats and not a huge range of savoury.

The décor of the Cafe Restaurant is lovely. Understated and classy, it exudes good taste.

I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than dressing up with friends and gorging on delicious delights in one of Perth's best hotels. For $45.00 a head this is a lovely way to celebrate that special occasion.

The only fault you may find with the experience is the two hour time slot flies past like the fudge flies off the dessert station.
