Heya Bar - It's a Joke

Thursday nights in Brisbane have improved immensely with the introduction of Heya Bar 's comedy nights, "It's a Joke." I consider myself super lucky to have stumbled upon this reoccurring event so early in its existence. This unique find is all thanks to a girlfriend who asked me along to the opening event a few months ago and I'm pretty sure this is going to become a regular haunt for our mates.



The night was hosted by Damien Power who filled the spaces between acts with the usual hilarious tales we have become so used to from him. The acts themselves were very diverse; some of the comedians had been in the business for years and some where brand new on the scene. Regardless of their age, experience or choice in topics, there wasn't a single comedian that didn't make me giggle profusely.



In between laughs you will also have to make sure you sample some of the delicious food. Every dish is inspired by the street food of Asia and the various noodles, rice and roles I tried were pure scrumptiousness. We also tried a few delicious cocktails… well my friends did... I was the designated driver. But I will let you know that if their cocktails are as good as their Pina Colada mocktail then I'm sure you are in for a treat. A treat of food, drinks and laughs.

"It's a Joke" is a free event and runs every Thursday from 7:30pm with dinner and drinks beginning at 5pm.
