Hemingway's Bar and Restaurant

There's something to be said for a place that serves a top notch Bloody Mary. And it's something more if they allow you to make the Bloody Mary yourself. Hemingway's is also one of the few places in the heart of the city where you can sit surrounded by trees, park your car and walk to the BTS in 4 minutes.
A sprawling old house has been turned in a large venue with multiple rooms and spaces as well and the garden to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Most evenings and Sundays it's busy and bustling for drinks and food. This is especially so during happy hour between 4 and 8pm.
The menu does feature some Thai dishes but the main fare is of the steak, sandwiches, pasta, salad and sides ilk. Servings are big. Hemingway's does have a great wine list, with a heavy Aussie focus.
Personal favourites are the Reuben Sandwich, Boniato-Ham Croquettes, Cold Cuts Board and Australian Wagyu Flank Steak. Sunday features a different brunch menu until 4pm. There are multiple egg variations and a terrific steak and eggs, as well fresh and tasty gazpacho.
One of the upstairs rooms occasionally hosts stand up comedy and other events.
For me Hemingway's says Sunday Brunch, washed down with your own Bloody Mary concoction, or a pleasant place in the middle of the chaos to hang out with friends.
It's on the south side of Sukhumvit Road, and the closest BTS station is Asok.
