Planning a trip to Japan or perhaps just curious about this far off land? Then this workshop will tick all the boxes for you.
Join tutor, Ikuko Borg as she talks you through the basics of this old yet new culture. Ikuko was born in Yokohama, Japan and moved to Australia in 2011. She is passionate about travel and languages and has lived in 18 different countries. Currently working as an educational counsellor supporting Japanese students in Australia, Ikuko also works as a coordinator, arranging business opportunities between Australia and Japan.
Whilst this course won't make you an expert on all things Japanese, it will give you an all 'round feel for the country, it's people and their day to day life. You will learn how to: use your "Ps and Qs" in Japanese, introduce yourself, write your name using calligraphy, manage the yen, tell the time, use public transport (including the bullet train), find your way to a pub, order food and drinks, enjoy those hot springs and public spas and so much more.
Come along and enjoy Ikuko's sense of humour and fun as she unwraps the "Land of the Rising Sun", merges the old with the new and enlightens you in the culture of one of the most travelled countries in the world.
