Thx for those links Lorraine. It seems that there is some evidence that Mega doses of 4-8mg do work but more research is needed to prove it.
At our place as soon as we feel the first niggle of a sore throat or a sniffle (not contributable to this ridiculously cold weather in Brisbane!) we dig into the Vitamin C's. We usually take 3,000mg or 3g as soon as we realize and then another 3,000mg before we go to bed, so it's probably closer to 6g per day.
The key is to take it before you come down with the cold, as once you have a cold it's not as effective. Have passed this info onto a number of my friends & they're finding that it's working for them too :)
Might have to increase the dose to 4g morning & night now after looking through those studies!! :)
