Have you always wanted to hit the road and take a few days or weeks off travelling around the country? Why not consider hiring a campervan. It's not as expensive as you might think, and if you wanted to take a couple of friends to share the cost - even better.

There are a number of campervan hire places around Sydney, which rent everything including;

Mini Campers

4 Berth Vans

Luxury 6 Berth Motorhomes

If you want to 'rough it' and get back in touch with your inner hippy, visit Wicked Campers for a real budget camping experience. They promise to be better value than car or motorhome hire - but you'll have to decide if you really want to be this conspicuous;

A 'Wicked' camping experience

You can hire a 6-berth motorhome from a very reasonable $144 per day, including all taxes, duties and collision damage waiver. A small pop-top van which would suit 2 people is priced from around $50 per day. While there are dozens of camper hire companies, Drive Now is one of the best sites I could find that includes prices and descriptions of the vehicles available.

Maybe you want to take off for a while and 'find yourself'. Perhaps you want to grab a few friends, hit the open road and see everything Australia has to offer. From small to huge, luxury to budget, you can be a very happy camper with the great vehicles on offer.

Somehow I can't see you in a campervan, but it's absolutely my cup of tea! Tricia

Yes Tricia, I see where you are coming from. She is not the camping type but people have been known to change.

Good idea for an article. I think it's so easy to get caught up in the desire to see the rest of the world and forget about how much great scenery there is to see here in Australia. If you want to see the best this country has to offer, the campervan-style experience is probably the best way to do it.

Well done, I got to understand why people would want to travel this way when I got to Byron Bay last time. All the surfers at wategos.
