If you weren't a Melbournite, you would probably be unaware of their existance, but laneways such as
Hardware Lane and
DeGraves Street, are essentially at the core of what makes Melbourne so lively and interesting.
Hardware Lane
A buzz with restaurants galore, these laneways are the perfect destination for a date, a catch up with the friends or to enjoy the cliche tunes of the semi-creepy Elvis impersonator that sings and plays the bongos. Whatever the reason, tapping into what Melbourne is famous for will allow for more than just the 'touristy' experience. Yes, I know Federation Square is cool, but it does not embody the true vibrancy, this great unique city of Melbourne has to offer.
So please, if you are visiting Melbourne for the first time or you have not yet experienced two of the 'happening' laneways of our time, you must check them out, and if you live here- schedule a dinner date this weekend!
Now you have been firmly told, you can find Hardware Lane in between Bourke st and Lt Lonsdale and Degraves in between Flinders Lane and Flinders St.
