Guerilla Bay Beach (Far South Coast)

Guerilla Bay Beach is such an enticing beach, with its many different hues and calm water. It is without doubt going to be one of your favourite beaches in the Far South Coast of New South Wales.

With secluded waters that are so inviting and clear; it is almost an offence not to dip your toes into the tranquil waters.

Being five hundred metres wide, facing east bay and being bordered to the south by Burrewarra Point with two beaches uniting into one, this cannot be missed. If you are driving past, be sure to stop at Guerilla Bay Beach!

This 'two in one' beach consists of the northern side (known as "the pot") and the southern side is the sheltered bay of the spit.

The northern side can be at times difficult to access due to the jagged rocks. It is around 100 metres of pure golden sands, which forms salient, tying it to a two hundred metre long rocky islet with small rocky bays either side of the salient.

Diving is an absolute delight here once you swim out through the gap and the water becomes deep.

The pot is a deep hole with ridges of rock rising from the bottom, the ocean sides of the ridges are covered in growths such as encrusting sponges of various colours. From the far side of the pot is a small 'cave' that you can swim into and be amazed by the abundance of small crabs...

The two hundred metre long rock platform separates the northern beach to the main beach. This southern side of the spit is the perfect place for beginners and swimmers, with low waves (except for higher seas) it makes the ultimate enticing place to take a dip.

The bottom of this side of the beach is rocky with a flat like reef extending up into walls. Seaweed- covered rocks and an abundance of fish species can be found here as well as plentiful amounts of stingrays, eels and more sea life creatures...

If you are a surfer, unfortunately, Guerilla Bay Beach is not suitable as there are not much waves here.

Though, it is certainly a haven for snorkellers, swimmers and divers.

Guerilla Bay Beach is easily accessed via a winding road off the main road (George Bass Road), which then leads into a small carpark.

The road is sealed and there are around 20 car spaces.
