may be a new branding, yet with over 20 years in the food industry, Joe is still making burgers, 'the way like they ought to be'.

Proudly displaying his mission statement beginning with "Established for the people .. .to serve and humbly feed", it goes on and is quite humbly written, showing the people behind the burgers.

Hearty two fisted burgers stuffed with tender succulent meats, fresh crispy salads and original prepared sauces and relishes is what you will learn to expect here.

Just one week old, has Cronullaites filling the shop to sample these great burgers and there is enough variety to ensure return trips.

To keep up our cultures ever changing taste buds, Joe experimented, expanded and grew a broad menu to satisfy the fussiest of palettes, yet still maintained how a burger ought to be.

Choose a beef, chicken, lamb, falafel or vegetarian burgers with traditional and non tradition fillings. With fourteen sauces and thirty 'extras' to add to their already twenty four menu burgers, you can create a burger to delight any delicate taste bud.

Most of their sauces, mayo, relishes, pickles, mustards are made on the premises, so you are sure these burgers will come with some punchy flavour.

Let your imagination soar as you read the burgers names, they are giveaways to their fillings. Choose a Club, Honey Mustard, Hail Caesar, Aphrodite, Double Royal Cheese, Swiss Mushroom, Apollo, Athena, Surf's Up, Giant, Monster and their signature Southern Beef Burgers.

I was half way through gobbling down my delicious Southern Beef Burger and reading the menu in more detail. I stopped, mid mouthful reading 'Chocolate Beef Burger'.

I cursed myself for not taking more time to order my burger. Joe creates a beef with chocolate blend, caramelised onion, sweet cabbage mix and topped with chocolate sauce. I know this might not be to everyone's fancy, but I will try just about anything when chocolate is involved. Oh well, it will have to wait for another day, hmm [/I ]tomorrow is another day%%.

I had to re-focus back on my burger. The fillings were generous; although not overly that they would fall all over your plate embarrassing yourself. The beef was just slightly salted, tomato and lettuce certainly crisp, as for the onions were so nicely caramelised and mayonnaise had that robust homemade texture and flavour. The buns are much larger than 'that other burger place'.

You so need two hands to eat these, even if you cut them in half. I am a little bit eager to go back and try a few more, yummy flavours and fillings. The Chocolate Burger of course is a given to make the return journey. I will keep you posted.

I'm not a huge chip fan, I usually just grab a couple off a friend's plate to satisfy my mini craving, much to their annoyance. I did finish off these chips to my surprise. They were coated in slightly salted spice, so I kept eating them trying to identify the flavours.

Burgers range from $5 to $8.50 and of course, if you want to create a mountain type burger, you pay for the extra fillings on offer. Grilled Scotch Fillet Steak sandwiches range from $6.90 to $9.90. Kids Mini Burgers are $4.50. They feature fresh juices rather than soft drinks on their combos to making it just that little bit healthier.

There are also a great range of delish salads to go with your burger.

I haven't even begun with the breakfast menu, yet another day, after the Chocolate Burger naturally.

Some Interesting Background Info
Now you are probably wondering if Joe really does have a burger background or is it just some sort of marketing ploy. Well check this out.

On Sunday 6th June, 2010 Joe and his staff attempted to create the 'Largest Burger Commercially Available' for a Guinness World Record category record. Weighing in at an astounding 96kg, it would have made the record books, however just days before somewhere else in the world, someone made a whopping 120kg burger, squashing their dream.

Capturing worldwide attention, it was featured in the media and helped raise much needed funds for the Children's Hospital. Awww. Records are they to be broken and beaten, so I hope he steps up to the challenge again, right here in Cronulla.

Another Charity Event was held in March 2011 with a 'Burger Eating Competition' at the Maroubra Spot Festival. Oh I could just feel my stomach turn at the thought. I was a little more than filled up after eating just one burger. The things some do in the name of charity and fame!

This would be a great event to be held in conjunction with our own Cronulla Fair. There are some pretty big sporting guys down here that I'm sure could pack away quite a few burgers. Fingers crossed for 2013.

I am sure will be around for quite some time serving the community in Cronulla and become an institution. Hail the burger, big and bountiful is back!
