Do a quick search on any of the major booking sites for accommodation, and you'll soon realise that the number of pet-friendly accommodation in Canberra is limited, unless you've got a large budget. Pets are such a big part of our lives, and travelling shouldn't be an exception - why should they miss out on all the fun, right? is the perfect combination of being both pet-friendly and not hard on the wallet - although technically not located in Canberra per se, it is only a short 20 minute drive away from the central business district in the nation's capitol. Located over the border in New South Wales, Queanbeyan is a regional centre on the Southern Tablelands; it's close proximity to the Australian Capital Territory has allowed it to become an integral part of the capital city's economy. The word 'Queanbeyan' is an anglicised form of Quinbean, an Aboriginal word meaning "clear waters". It'll certainly become 'clear' to you as to why is a great choice of accommodation when you're visiting this area!



A family run business, caters for all types of travellers, and have strived to provide the best facilities "for the business guest without sacrificing services for families". So whether you're a business person travelling solo, travelling as part of a family, or travelling with a pet, is a great choice - with five different rooms to choose from to suit your needs and personal circumstances. All rooms have colour television, DVD players, refrigerators, mini-bars, coffee and tea-making facilities, STD/IDD direct dial telephones, reverse cycle air conditioning, ironing facilities, clock radios, baths and free 10 FOXTEL channels.




Eddy and I stayed in the Corporate Single Room during our one night stay, and found it comfortable and spacious, with all the facilities we needed. In fact, with complimentary towels and toiletries, all we needed to bring was ourselves!













In addition to facilities available in each room, the motel also has a bar, laundry/dry cleaning services, room service (with great country cooked breakfasts, available 7 days a week), disabled facilities, and even a restaurant on site! For the travelling person on business, there is Internet access in addition to photocopying and fax services. And finally, there is plenty of free parking available within the motel, although there are no designated car parks - no need to fret if they're all taken though, because there is plenty of free parking available on adjacent streets.
