I am not a dumpling expert.

However when I lived in Melbourne I was a frequent fixture at Auntie's Dumplings, a place Matt Preston from Masterchef (expert on all things food and cravats) publicly praised for its authentic cuisine and delectable dumplings.

So my dumpling judgement bar was raised high.
To a height I was afraid no Dumpling King or queen in Adelaide would be able to meet.

But after discovering at West Lakes, I am now eating my words, as well as their lip-smacking dumplings.

With an entire selection on the menu especially for dumplings and wonton, deciding what to order may take some time.

Whether you choose the traditional steam pork dumplings or chicken and prawn wonton soup with chilli oil, the result is the same.

Delicious, cheap and entirely satisfying.

Like many dumpling restaurants there is no pretence; the chairs are plastic, you have to grab your own cutlery and if you are unable to finish your plate of juicy dumplings a plastic container is given to you promptly.

After an inexpensive and enjoyable feast, I recommend popping into Westfield and buying a bamboo steam basket because Dumpling House also sells frozen packs to take home so every day can be a dumpling day.
