Goodwood Oval and Playground

Goodwood Oval is a large spot of public space that offers facilities for ball games, cricket practice, picnicking, as well as two fantastic play areas. Regardless of your family, there is something to do here for everyone.

Goodwood Oval

Goodwood Oval features a football pitch that is ideal for games of Australian Rules Football, and other ball games like rugby or soccer. It is set up with AFL goal posts, but the space would be great for any games. This gives children a good space to run around and play games, but it also provides a space for more serious athletes to practice their skills. There are also areas set up where cricketers can practice their pitching and batting.

The Oval is home to the Goodwood Saints Football Club, and so it is not uncommon to watch training on the pitch. Goodwood Oval also often hosts games of football, cricket, and soccer. During this organised sporting activity all dogs must be kept on a leash, so that they do not interfere with the games. At all other times the oval is a dog exercise area, and dogs can roam and will, as long as they are under control.

Goodwood Oval Playground

The two Goodwood Oval play areas create fun for children of all ages. The first playground features slides, swings, a climbing wall, monkey bars, and other fun equipment. This is aimed at older children, but all will enjoy it with proper supervision. The other play area is a fenced in area that has smaller equiptment and a small cubby house with tables. This area is ideal for younger children as the equipment is far tamer. Children who may fear dogs will also find this space ideal, because they will not have to worry about any of the roaming dogs inside the fenced areas.

Fenced Playground

Goodwood Oval is a good place for picnicking. There are barbeque facilities and seats and tables. Families will also enjoy the shade from the many trees on the perimeter of the oval. Many local families will also congregate at the park during early evening hours, this can be a great opportunity to meet other local parents and children on the playground.
