Kids can join in with the sluicing too
James will share his local knowledge with you, takes you out to his private property and teaches you how to dredge, sluice, pan and prospect.
He will give you a glass vial to pop your treasures in and anything under 2 ounces you keep (if it is over 2 ounces James will split it 50/50 with you.
Letting the stream do the work for you
This could end up being the cheapest event you have ever taken (if you are lucky, it may even pay you to go).
Even if you don't quite strike it rich, you will usually find little flecks of gold to take away, making it a great activity and learning experience.
James is especially peaceful and understanding with children and would love to share his knowledge with them.
Lately, he has hosted scout weekends where they camp on his property for a fun filled weekend, gold prospecting, playing learning games and having a terrific weekend away.
School groups are welcome as are small groups and individuals.
