The
Gold Coast Show is a great event for the whole family. The range of things to see and do will keep everyone entertained. It runs over the first weekend in September this year (2012) from the Friday, August 31st through to the Sunday, September 2nd. If you haven't been before then go along to Parklands Showground, Southport and experience it for yourself. It's billed as the largest community event held on the Coast and 2012 will be its 106th show.

The program of events includes: a free circus, fireworks display, showbags, slideshows and rides. The animal side offers horse events, dog show, goat competition and animal nursery. The homecraft displays show off the talents of Gold Coast residents alongside school displays and visual arts competitions. The woodchopping championship entrants will have their axes flying while the woodturners stand will have demos and beautifully crafted woodturned items for sale.

There are also vintage cars, motorsports exhibits and homeshow displays to enjoy. In fact, there are more than 50 free activities running during the Show. Throw in food and evening entertainment and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Ticket prices:
Family ticket (2A & 3C under 14) costs $45, Adult $20, Student, pensioner, senior $10, Kids under 14 $5, preschoolers are free and parking is $10.
The Gold Coast Show is held at Parklands Showgrounds, corner Smith Street and Parklands Drive, Southport. There is plenty of parking available. If you are travelling from north of the showgrounds follow the signs to the Musgrave Avenue parking precinct. If you are coming from south of the Showgrounds, follow the signs to the Parklands Drive parking precincts.
