Go 'Library Hopping'

Most of us expect our weekends to be dull and boring, and we assume that the only way to have fun during the weekend, is to go out for a bite to eat or a fun-filled night of partying. This expectation, and assumption, is completely and utterly wrong!
If you love reading, and going off on adventures just as much as I do, there's a very easy and affordable way to have an awesome weekend. Go, as I like to call it, 'Library-hopping'.
What exactly is library hopping? It is an art-form (In my deluded mind), where one goes from local library to the next; reading worn books that smell pleasantly of aged paper, and, admiring the quaintness of the library building one has entered, or perhaps, admiring its extravagance if it is a particularly luxurious library.
There are plenty of libraries scattered all throughout Melbourne for you to go gallivanting after. And, if you include old bookstores in your journey, there's really no shortage of places to go and literature to read!
Great libraries to kick off your adventure are:
the Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre ,
Eltham Library ,
St Kilda Library ,
Library at Newport Community Hub ,
The Library at the Dock ,
Melbourne Athenaeum Library , and last but not least, the
State Library of Victoria .
What I have noticed is, people forget to enjoy those brief moments of serenity, where silence and peace reigns supreme. We forget, that enjoying our weekends isn't just about being loud and doing absurd things - we can enjoy the weekend simply with a warm cup of tea and a good book.
The best thing about a library is, it's the king of peace and quiet; you will never be bothered by fellow library-goers, and you will always have a good book on hand to indulge in. And, in most cases, a great cafe will be around the corner to dose you up with your great pal, caffeine.
Don't waste this weekend, or this coming weekend, partying and doing the usual weekend activities; have fun simply by enjoying new atmospheres, and delving into brilliant novels.
I bid you all a good day, and I wish every one of you a fantastic weekend! Hopefully, it'll be one full of great books and literary adventures!
