The Gluten Free Food Expo is on the weekend of 14 and 15 May at the Brisbane Convention Centre.

This is gluten free foodie heaven. In its 10th year the expo showcases 50 of Australia's best gluten free food producers. All the mouth-watering gluten free food your tummy can take under one roof. Meals, snacks, gluten free organic and locally made products.

This festival goes close to my heart having lived with a coelic father for most of my life. I know that one of the hardest things about being coelic is meal preparation - the need to incorporate gluten free food with the rest of the family's meals to avoid double meal preparation and the feeling of food isolation. This year's expo has so many tasty food products that the family won't know they're eating gluten free. You'll find lots of new ideas for coeliac's to expand their knowledge and pantry.

The expo plays hosts to cooking TV royalty in the form of MasterChef contestants, with one of the highlights of the Expo being the live cooking demonstrations by MasterChef contestants Courtney Rolsten and Michael Weldon throughout the weekend the Coles Live Cooking Stage .

Entry starts at $10 and is cheaper if you buy online. Coeliac Queensland members pay $10 online, non-members $15. At the door members pay $15 and non-members pay $20. Your ticket price gets you entry on both days.

Coelic Queensland has worked hard to make this a relevant and informative expo. Coelic Disease and gluten intolerance is a growing problem in our society with 1 in 70 Australians now identifying as a coeliac. There are many thousands more choosing to live a gluten free lifestyle for health and dietary reasons. Coeliac Queensland Executive Officer Glen Harriss is focused on an informative and fun weekend. "We really upped the ante with our stallholders last year, and got a great result, so we are working hard to make 2016 our biggest year ever."

The expo isn't just about product stalls. One of the main objectives of the expo is information sharing and this year the festival is blessed to have keynote presentations by distinguished medical professionals:

Dr Jason Tye-Din, Gastroenterologist
Dr Richard Muir, Paediatric Gastroenterologist
Dr Sue Shepherd, Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian
Dr James Daveson, Gastroenterologist

Times and details for the key note presentations can be found here and for a full list of the product stalls click here .

The kids area returns this year with lots of physical and fun activities to keep children amused.

The festival is on at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Saturday 14 May from 9.30am to 5pm and Sunday 15 May from 9.30am to 3pm. Paid parking is available on site. For public transport options to the Convention Centre see the Translink website .
