On the 15th of November, the 26th annual
Glebe Street Fair will be taking over
Glebe Point Road.
Traffic will be closed from the intersection with Broadway to the intersection with Bridge Road, meaning that a typically busy thoroughfare will be transformed into a throbbing pedestrian mall. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend.
The good folk responsible for the
Glebe Markets will have over 200 stalls operating, thereby providing visitors the opportunity to do all their Christmas shopping. And considering that the GSF is a not-for-profit event that reinvests its proceeds in the community, there could be few more worthy places to empty your wallet.
Stalls aside, the fair's
program has several points of interest. There will be bands, roving street performers, a Poets' Corner and even an Arguers' Stage. A baby animal farm and animal rides will be keeping the kids amused, while a Doggie Olympics will be testing the athletic abilities and fashion sense of man's best friend.
