These days, we are more and more encouraged to eat as much locally produced food as possible. Benefits include reducing your carbon footprint, and the fact your food is as fresh as it can be.

Unless you catch it yourself, it's hard to get more local or fresh fish, than buying it from with deliveries twice weekly to Sale, on Wednesdays and Fridays, from the trawlers based at Lakes Entrance, straight to the shop at Cobb & Co Stables Market, Sale.



Fish offered includes: flake, flathead, gummy, snapper, as well as scallops, oysters and other local seafood. Not only is this seafood fresh and delicious, but it is surprisingly inexpensive - I guess that must reflect the reduction in transport costs.



If you are in a hurry, and don't know what to have for dinner tonight, take advantage of 's Gourmet Prepared Meals, which include Seafood Pies in single or family size, and Seafood Lasagne - cooked and ready to heat and eat.



Many people I know have these prepared meals on a weekly basis - but beware, they sell out quickly, especially on a Friday, the traditional night to have fish for dinner.
