This 3.67 hectare Red Hill park was once known as Gilbert's Paddock prior to 1945 and today has a range of activities for kids, pups and football fanatics. For me, there are 3 big reasons to visit Gilbert Park.

**
1. Children's Playground**
The kid's play area can be accessed from Kenwyn Street and is based around a wooden climbing fort, along with ropes, bouncers and traditional swings. Much of the equipment is painted bright and friendly yellow and rests on a large, slightly sloping grassy patch - perfect for running and kicking a ball.

2. The off leash dog park
Pooch isn't forgotten either. He can run, jump and meets friends at the accompanying dog park. It probably isn't the grassiest of dog parks but has enough space to wear out an energetic pup. A drink station is located inside to refresh and thirsty and tired pooch. Poop bags are available for any little accidents. The dog park has a seat for you to rest while watching him play.

3. Brisbane Broncos training ground**
Football fans will know that is the home to the mighty Brisbane Broncos rugby league team. The public can watch the team train and get up close for a picture with members of the team or have a jersey or cap signed.
