Lovers of garage sales and fetes should head to the hills on Saturday 9 April 2016, where they will have the pick of three big sales events.



The day is set to be a friendly shopping, meeting and eating bonanza in the Blackwood Hills area. Come along and bag yourself a bargain!

With the first sale opening its stalls at 8.30am, and the closing time for another being 3pm, there will be plenty of time to visit all three.

Organised by three local hills churches, each garage sale/fete will have the usual range of stalls including books and bric-a-brac, however, each one has some unique stalls meaning there is something for everyone.



Lovers of retro kitchenware and general household goods should head to the Eden Hills Uniting Church while Blackwood Church of Christ will have some lovely gifts for Mother's Day and records. It is also offering some family entertainment, with face painting and live music on the agenda.

If it's mouth-watering cakes or an array of plants you're after, head to Blackwood Uniting Church.

Two of the churches, Blackwood Uniting Church and Blackwood Church of Christ are within a five minute walk from each other, and the Eden Hills Uniting Church is just a short drive away.

But it may be difficult to choose where to eat - there will be food and refreshments at each site – with BBQ, sausage sizzle, Devonshire tea, café, all to keep hungry families satisfied. And this is of course before you've checked out some of the delightful cafes in Blackwood!

Entry is free to all of the sales and the details are below:

Blackwood Uniting Church (at the Blackwood roundabout) will have bric-a-brac, books, cakes and plants.
Open 8.30am until sold out.

Blackwood Church of Christ (corner of Shepherd's Hill Road and Waite Street) will have home-made produce, household goods, books, records, curios, toys, clothing, plants and Mother's Day gifts, as well as face painting and live music.
Open 9.00am to 2.00pm.

Eden Hills Uniting Church (16 Willora Road Eden Hills) will have bric-a-brac, books, girlie gear, retro kitchenware and general household goods.
Open 10.00am to 3.00pm

Visit each sale in turn and obtain your treasures – you never know what you'll find tucked away. Once you're done, why not check out some of the other exciting shops Blackwood has to offer?

However, if you've had enough of shopping, head over to Kuoni Creative and take a look at what it's exhibiting in its art gallery or enjoy a walk in the delightful Wittunga botanical gardens or nearby Belair National Park.
