Games Night

You don't need buckets of booze and fancy electronics to have a good night - all you need are some friends and a selection of games for some good, cheap, clean fun.

Games night is easy to organise. Just invite your friends around and dig out your old board games (or ask your friends to bring theirs.) You can play several different shorter games, like Connect Four and Guess Who, throughout the night, or stick to one, longer game, like Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit. If you've got enough games to go around, you might like to split up into groups and take turns. How you plan your night will depend on the size of the crowd - and your own personal preferences, of course!

If you don't have any board games, you can invite your friends around for group games that don't require any equipment. Games like Charades and I Never (minus the drinking part, of course) can be played indoors, or take advantage of a large backyard with a round of Hide and Seek or Sardines. You can also revisit your childhood with a game of Tiggy, Musical Chairs or Red Light Green Light.

All this game fun can work up an appetite so be sure to keep the food coming. Try yummy, satisfying snacks like pizza, antipasto loaf and pigs in blankets. For an appropriate dessert, these traffic light biscuits can be modified to imitate a Twister or Connect 4 board.

So dust off your old games or clear the backyard and invite the group around for some fun and laughter.
