I'm an inner-city rambler who's happy to share my best finds with you. My writing turns up in the local street press, magazines, and more. (This week's pic: flamingo stencil, Rialto shops, Hardgrave Road.)
I was lucky enough to be at the cutting of GoMA's 5th birthday cake this morning, and boy, what a cake it was.
Premier Anna Bligh and various other important people spoke, but the cake was the star of the show. Inspired by GoMA's current exhibition, 'we miss you magic land!', it was a fantasy concoction of spun sugar and glowing baubles. Slices were handed out to all the kids and adults in attendance, and the inside tasted great too.
The magic land exhibition was also a treat, a real-life version of a storybook world. Adults and children were transfixed by its detail and imagination.
GoMA is holding a series of shows to coincide with its 5th birthday. The next to open will be the Matisse: Drawing Life exhibition, which begins Saturday 3rd December.
