Keep your children involved in keeping warm this winter with these fun ideas.

Draft Detectives
Mission: Find any place in the house that lets in drafts and make Draft Dogs. These can be long pieces of fabric or old socks sewn and stuffed; towels rolled and tied with ribbon sting or rubber bands. Perhaps even old stuffed toys could be recruited for the job.

Blanket Basket
Mission: Collect a selection of throws, old baby blankets or dressing gowns in a basket so everyone can cuddle up in front of TV and create their own warmth. ( A friendly dog makes a pretty good warm cover up too.)

Funniest Fashion
Mission: Dress up warmly in weird combinations of clothes.

Tea Party
Mission: Try a different tea every night
Provide thermos of hot water (not boiling) and some teapots. Let children try fruit and herb teas. e.g Mint, lemon grass, sliced lemon and ginger, strawberry tea bags, lemon juice and honey.

Camp Out
Mission: Build a cosy camp.
This may be a real tent erected indoors complete with mattresses and sleeping bags or it could be two sofas pushed together covered with a large blanket or cushions under a table.

Readthon
Mission: Everyone chooses a short book or poem. Then all hop into Mum and Dad's bed. You can read to yourselves but it's better if each person reads their story aloud in turn.
