Fuller's Brewery Tour

Any brewery that's been doing its thing for more than 150 years (and winning awards along the way) must be doing something right.

Fuller's, which lays claim to being London's only traditional family brewery – and a rather large one at that – has been in the business of brewing beery beverages since 1845. If you've ever supped a pint of London Pride, ESB, Seafarers Ale, London Porter, Golden Pride, Discovery, Organic Honey Dew, Chiswick Bitter, or HSB, then you have tasted the fine work of Fuller's.

Down at their Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, guided tours are available where you can learn more about their various beverages and exactly how they're made.

The knowledgeable and entertaining guides are passionate about their beer, and take you on a journey through Fuller's history, while explaining the brewing process (from raw materials to final packaging) and why the different beers taste the way they do.

The great thing about a brewery tour is that you know at the end there's going to be a tasting session. And having absorbed (or not) all of the information during the tour, you'll be perfectly ready at the end, with your parched throat, to absorb some of the liquids you've been hearing about, looking at, and smelling on your way through the brewery.

So if you fancy a tipple with a tour, or a tour with a tipple, then you might want to think about getting down to Chiswick for a closer look at the workings of Fuller's Griffin Brewery.

Tours last around 90 minutes and to join you need to book in advance. This can be done by either filling out the online form here or by phoning 020-8996-2063. You can even fax them on 020-8996-2079 requesting a reservation. In all cases, they'll get back to you with confirmation.
