To watch the cyclists filling Melbourne streets everyday you would think that bike wear was strictly serious business. The usual Lycra shorts, rolled up pants and sensible shoes, Frocks on Bikes smashes that straight out of the bike lane and once every 6 weeks ladies throw on their prettiest dress and cycle about in all their glory.
It is always a colourful sight as these ladies (and the odd man) visit croquet clubs, garage sales and picnic spots across Melbourne. These aren't pretty whimsies floating about ringing their bells (although that does happen too) these ladies are fast and furious frocked bikers on a cycle mission.
Even with the journey itself being tremendous fun they always manage to make the destination magical and interesting, picnics by the harbour, garage sale hopping, art gallery visiting or a croquet game with a round of Pimms and club sandwiches. The next Frocks on Bikes this Sunday I'm told is a jaunt out to Williamstown with a fish and chips reward so get out a frock and join them!
