If you like the idea of a festival combining skiing, snowboarding, DJs and live music then read on.
The 2011 Relentless Energy Drink Freeze Festival, taking place at Battersea Power Station, promises to bring punters "the ultimate Apres Ski Party of the winter", and if it's anything like it looks in the video (see end of article), then it's not hard to believe.
Although London has been dumped on by a fair few blizzards in recent years, the chance of such a snowstorm occurring at the end of October is very small. Therefore, Freeze Festival's organisers will be making 500 tons of real snow instead.
A 32-metre-high jump at the festival site will put some of the world's best skiers and snowboarders to the test - expect to be dazzled by a fair few double backflips, triple somersaults and quadruple something-or-others as they hurtle off the end of the jump at high speed.
Friday sees the Battle of Britain Snowboard Competition, while on Saturday there's the Europe vs The World Ski and Snowboard Battle. Four live stages provide the soundtrack late into the night (well, 10.30pm to be precise) - Friday's main stage headliner is Groove Armada while The Streets will be providing the entertainment at the end of Saturday night. Other acts include Zane Lowe, Everything Everything, Azari & III, The Joy Formidable, Beardyman and Summer Camp. Click here to see the full line-up.
The Apres Ski Bar will host loads of DJs over the two days, including the likes of A Skillz, Damien Stone and CJ Beatz.
This year's Freeze Festival also sees the return of the retail village where winter sports enthusiasts can get all the clothing and equipment they need for the forthcoming winter season, and also fill up on food and drink at one of the many refreshment stands.
For a bit of fun - as the festival falls close to Halloween - organisers are encouraging visitors on Saturday to turn up in 'Blizzard of Oz' fancy dress. Get yourself photographed in your gear at the festival's photo booth and you could be in with a chance of winning Freeze tickets for life - the winner will be announced during the course of the evening.
At £37 for adults and £17 for children, tickets may seem a bit on the pricey side, but get there early and make a day of it and it should be worth every penny.
