Freo Treasure Hunt
Launching on Talk Like a Pirate Day, the #Freo_Treasurehunt will be running for three weeks over the school holidays. Download the treasure map here or collect one from the visitor centre, and then begin the journey collecting letters to solve the clue. Submit your map or publish photos to be in the running for prizes including a Staycation at the Fishing Boat Harbour, dinner at Cicerello's and passes to great Fremantle attractions.

Kids Eat Free Every Day of School Holidays
Kids eat free for lunch every day of the Sept/Oct holidays at the Herdsman Tavern. One free meal per paying adult. Kids can come dressed in their favourite costume for great prizes and every Monday there will be a petting zoo.

When: September 23rd to October 10th,11.30am to 3.30pm

Kadidjiny Spring Markets
Bring the family to the Kadidjiny Spring Market with food vans, arts and crafts, more than 65 market stalls, beauty products, face painting and more. There will also be free craft for kids thanks to the Sand Card Company, not to mention one of the coolest playgrounds in Perth. The Spring Market will be combined with the Kadidjiny Park Hall Festival with free performances, balloon twisting and the Bubble Igloo Dome.

Perth Observatory Open Day
Celebrate the Perth Observatory's 120th birthday with a free open day and all-day activities including live music, talks, interactive activities, tours, solar viewing, face painting, exhibits and more. There will also be a sausage sizzle, coffee van, icecream and pizza to buy on the day.

Mercatino - Little Market
Randwick Stables is a heritage listed property which has developed a community garden now holds a Mercatino (little market) once a month. Local stallholders will sell locally made food and produce plus craft and market stalls with all proceeds donated to the community garden project. There will also be live music local Fremantle bands.

Queen's Birthday at Mindarie Quay
Mindarie Marina has a full line up of free events on Sunday of the long weekend with live music from 1pm to 6pm, bubble soccer on the sand court, free kids face painting, bouncy castle, air tattoos and crown decorating and a selfie with the Queen.

World Peace Day 2016
Everyone of all religion, ethnicity and age are welcome to join in to celebrate World Peace Day, and show support for ending hostilities around the world. There will be speeches, performances and prayers by community and religious groups, and special guest speaker Heather Henderson, City of Subiaco Mayor.

The Strange Creature: A Storytelling Adventure
Meet at the specially marked tree in Cathedral Square for a special storytelling adventure helping a strange creature find out his true identity. This is a storytelling walk during which new characters will be introduced and the creature finally revealed. Suitable for 3-9 years, sessions 30 minutes (no bookings required).

Shopkins School Holidays at Galleria
Kids who love Shopkins will love the Immersive Zone running during the first week of the holidays. Swap them, colour them in, play with them and even meet Apple Blossom – it will be Shopkin central at Galleria.

Storytime at The Stripey Horse
Children are welcome to free storytime sessions with stories for the younger children (3-6 years) at 10.30am and older kids (6-10 years) at 2.30pm. Space is limited and keep in mind this is a beautiful toy store, not a library.

Awesome Arts Festival
The Awesome Festival will fill the October School Holidays with a showcase of hands-on activities, music, theatre, dance and film for children aged 0 – 12 and their families. Many events are free including Madam Lark with her 'harmonious symphony of ridiculousness', pop-up playgroups, story times and more. Check out the full schedule

Perth Makers Market
Perth Makers Market is a bi-monthly event that showcases some of Perth's finest artisans, designers, artists and gourmets with over 120 stalls of unique clothing, homewares, crafts, jewellery and more. Bring a picnic or enjoy some of the food available and kids will love the fantastic pirate ship playground and craft workshops. This is also a Pokemon Go hotspot!

Free School holiday activities at the Art Gallery
Join the Awesome Arts Festival and the Art Gallery to share your vision of how you think our state should look, with a chance to design your own artwork showing how you see Western Australia. Suitable for children aged 6 .

Inflatable Museum
The Museum may be closed for a while but that won't stop it popping up (literally) as an inflatable museum over the school holidays. It will be a fun and easy week with unique Egyptian artefacts and plenty of themed activities such as amulet making, Egyptian mask making and bookmark (all free and no bookings are required). Activities suit 3-12 year olds.

Wiggles School Holidays at Galleria
During the second week of the school holidays it will be all things Wiggles at Galleria, with plenty of Wiggles craft, Wiggles DVDs in the chill-out zone and games available to play. You can even meet Dorothy the Dinosaur!

The Urban Garden
Visit Granny's Greenhouse for a free craft workshop making colourful paper flowers and pin-wheels, play games on the grass or learn about plant care. Special visits from Gardener Dan will introduce kids to origami pot plants a d everyone can plant a seedling to take home. Suitable for ages 3-9 years. No bookings required.
