There are many opportunities to view free feature films in nearly every New York borough.
The
22nd Annual Dusty Film & Animation Festival comes to New York on May 6th. This four day film festival will present nearly 100 films by various students from the School of Visual Arts who are graduating from the BFA Film, Video and Animation Departments. The festival is free, but a reservation is required. Most films will be screened at the SVA Theater at 333 West 23rd Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. For more information

Cantor Film Center at NYU offers free screenings of various students' films, call 212-998-4100 for more information. The center is located at 36 E. 8th Street.
For those looking for international films, the Deutsches Haus Cultural Center at 42 Washington Mews, offers free screenings of German films on Fridays. For more information,

One of the world's biggest and best art museums, the
Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) has free screenings of films from 4-8pm on Fridays. Admission is free.
These are just some of the many free offerings of films around New York. Most residents also enjoy some of the many free film festivals in many of the city's boroughs throughout the summer. However, these offerings (just a small sampling), are great for Spring, Fall & Winter.
