Here's today's challenge - how many trampoline related puns can I manage in a review of Flipout? The count starts now.....

first sprang on to the indoor play centre scene about a year ago and the Australian owned franchises are now popping up all over Sydney, NSW and Australia. Touted as Australia's first indoor play centre for the whole family, Flipout offers huge indoor trampoline arenas, foam pits, birthday parties, disco nights & childrens "ninja" classes. You can find Flipout at Brookvale, Punchbowl, Caringbah, Castle Hill, Blacktown, Campbelltown and Penrith and many more locations in NSW.

I took my 8 and 10 year old children to check out the Campbelltown arena one morning in the school holidays. We arrived around 10am and found it to be relatively quiet. After signing a waiver form and learning the simple rules - i) socks are required and ii) when jumping in the foam pit you need to wait until the person before you has exited the pit - the kids jumped to it.

First stop was the massive trampoline arena. It is literally wall to wall trampolines for your bouncing pleasure, with a couple of obstacles thrown in. You can jump, run, race or cartwheel your way around the course.

Next up was the foam pit. One large hole in the ground filled to the brim with foam squares. There are two trampolines in the lead up to the foam pit. You can bounce until you are ready to make your spectacular entry - my favourites are the superman, the roly-poly and the bomb. Behind the foam pits are two more individual trampolines for practising your moves.

For the little kids, there is a separate smaller arena catering to the "Under 7's". It also has trampolines and their own foam pit. There are Flipout staff walking around and supervising and someone constantly stationed at the foam pit making sure the kids wait until it is safe to jump in.

Adults are allowed to participate but for those who prefer to have their feet firmly on the ground there are tables and chairs available to wait at and cold drinks & packets of chips available to purchase. Unfortunately for sleep deprived parents there is no cafe or coffee available. However, I did like the fact that there is room for parents to view, walk around and take photos up in the arena.

Rates start from $10 for a half hour entry, $14 for 1 hour and then $12 for any additional hours thereafter. Special rates are also available for school or group bookings, and Mums and Bubs.

My kids really enjoyed Flipout. It was great as an activity for both of them to do and they both gave it the thumbs up. Their favourite activity was jumping in to the foam pit.

So if you are after some school holiday fun this spring time, why not enjoy the ups and downs at a Flipout Centre near you.

So how did I go? I counted 6 terrible trampoline puns...but I'm sure you could do much better.
