Brisbane's performing arts scene is alive these school holidays with an abundance of theatrical events for kids; from fairytales and fantasies to musicals and more.

Seussical The Musical
June 22 to July 20
Brisbane Arts Theatre, Petrie Terrace

Seussical The Musical, based on the beloved books by Dr Seuss, debuted on Broadway in 2000 and more recently appeared on the West End in London. From June 22 to July 20, your favourite Dr Seuss characters come to life at the Brisbane Arts Theatre . Join The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, the Mayor of Whoville and his son JoJo on an amazing musical adventure.

Snow White
June 25 to July 2
Princess Theatre, Woolloongabba

Meet Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs during the school holidays at The Princess Theatre. Presented by the Fame Theatre Company, this classic fairytale is full of colourful characters, costumes, sets, songs and dances. Visit Fame Theatre's website for more details.



Slava's Snowshow
June 26 to June 30
Lyric Theatre, QPAC, South Bank

Created by Russian performance artist Slava Polunin, a former member of Cirque du Soleil, Slava's Snowshow is a magical masterpiece combining traditional and contemporary clown theatrics. The show has been seen in more than eighty cities around the world including London, New York and Moscow. Slava's Snowshow is coming to Brisbane during the school holidays for eight shows only. Don't miss your chance to see this award-winning wonder with a fantastic finale, including a snowstorm that leaves the audience ankle-deep in snow.


The Empty City
June 27 to July 3
Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm

As part of Powerkids, Brisbane's annual children's festival, the Brisbane Powerhouse presents the world premier of The Empty City ; based on the book by David Megarrity and Jonathan Oxlade. When everyone else disappears, Tom embarks on an adventure alone through the empty city towards the shop of his dreams - Mr Crazy's. The Empty City uses a unique combination of physical performance, projected image, original music and animation.

The Lost Property Rules
July 2 to July 5
Queensland Theatre Company, South Brisbane

Queensland Theatre Company presents The Lost Property Rules at the Billie Brown Studio from July 2 to 5. Written by acclaimed Brisbane playwright Matthew Ryan, The Lost Property Rules tells the tale of two young girls about to move house and start a new school. It's a story of mystery, joy, fear and bravery. Following the performance, kids can enjoy an hour of fun, free activities.
