Every two months, at a club in Camden, there is a gathering of sinners. As you can imagine, it's a very large gathering, for there are few of us who can claim to be as pure as the driven snow.
In fact, the venue, which has served the sinning/fetish community well over the last three years, is no longer able to contain the number of sinners beating at the door of this den of iniquity – so Saturday's
Festival of Sins will be the last ever at the Purple Turtle before the event moves to a bigger venue.
As a result, the organisers of this bi-monthly bash are keen to go out with a big bang, so to speak.
A night of guiltless pleasure awaits those who choose to enter this sanctum of sin. Performers include the multi-talented
Ghoulia, with a show promising to be both arty and erotic; cross-gender musical shenanigans from Grimstone & Treacle; winner of the 2009 New York Burlesque Festival Performer contest,
Philly Caramel; operatically-trained glam-diva from Germany,
Katja von Kassel; Sheffield band
Dark Sparks, described by Kerrang Radio's Alex Baker as being like "an art rock horror show"; and alternative/gothic/metal outfit
Emotional Arsonist in the last show of their national tour – so expect some fireworks.
There's plenty more besides the music, notably Professor Newbury's demonstrations of corporal punishment and aerial bondage, which is
bound to leave a good number of fetishists quivering with delight.
What? You want more? Do gimp stilt walkers do it for you? How about a fetish photo studio? There'll also be body painting, experimental art installations and a fair amount of debauchery.
Greed is the theme for the evening, so grab your most titillating togs and let it all hang out for what promises to be a wicked night of fetish-based fun.
