The Ferny Grove Markets are undoubtedly a flea market – and that's not a bad thing! If you like to haggle; if you prefer to rummage through boxes; and if you love a bargain, then these are the markets for you.
This market presents an eclectic group of sellers peddling inexpensive food, second hand goods and a variety of weird and wonderful miscellany. With trash and treasure stalls, arts and crafts and homemade cakes and jams, they are somewhat reminiscent of an old country fair.
But the Ferny Grove Markets are most characterised by abundant fruit and vegetable stalls – a selection to rival any farmers market and in many cases, a lot cheaper. There's also a selection of other foods and potted plants.
The market is especially popular with families, who enjoy finding gems amongst the tables of second hand clothes, toys and bric-a-brac. With so many bargains for families, they are the perfect markets for our economic climate.
If you've got the time and the inclination, you can open your own market stall. Just contact the market organiser on 0418 721 751 for more information.
