What are Featured Articles?

Featured articles displayed in the special featured section at the top of the "Theatre" category.
Featured articles are highlighted at the top of all category, article, and city pages as well as the featured section of the email newsletter (see images to the right).
They attract on average 25x the number of readers as regular articles and are more likely to appear in the top 10 lists.
Featuring an article costs $99.50 (inc GST) for 1 month. It's possible to feature an existing article or request a new article to be featured.
Featured articles are promoted at the top of the page to the right of each article.
To feature your event or business with a new article click on the orange "Suggest an Event" or "Invite a Writer" links at the top of
your WeekendNotes city page, or
choose your city here.
To feature an existing article click on the green "feature this article" link found underneath the article itself.
To maintain a consistent writing style, new articles are written by a staff writer using information provided by you. It's not possible to write your own article.
Up to 5 categories can be selected.
If you have any questions regarding featured articles, please
contact us.
Featured articles are selected at random to appear in the featured sections of the website (changed every 10 minutes) and email newsletter (each reader sees different featured articles), so your article may not appear all the time in these places.
Featured articles are promoted at the top of each city homepage.
Featured articles are also promoted in the email newsletter, directly underneath the main articles.
To see how many people are reading your featured article refer to the daily statistics email. There is a link allowing you to unsubscribe from this report in the email.
Once the featured period expires articles remain on WeekendNotes as a regular article.
